This month encourages everyone to learn about the various conditions affecting blood vessels, such as peripheral artery disease (PAD), arterial disease, venous disease, blood clots, 

Vascular disease is the collective term for diseases of the arteries, vein and lymphatics.

Anyone can be affected with a vascular disease but there are several factors that can increase an individual's risk:

  • age
  • family history
  • lifestyle
  • high blood pressure
  • diabetes
  • obesity
  • stress

There are many ways you can improve your vascular health, these include:

  • regular physical activity
  • healthy diet
  • maintain a healthy weight
  • don't smoke
  • limit alcohol consumption
  • stay hydrated
  • manage chronic conditions
  • control stress levels
